Born in Naples (Italy) in 1962, I live in Turin since 1990; I started my photographic activity in 1997 with assignments in jazz concerts. I formed and enriched my skills attending workshops with David H. Harvey, Kent Kobersteen, Tomasz Tomaszewski, Ernesto Bazan ed Alexandra Boulat. Besides musicians photos, my main interest verges on reportage photography, which I see as the perfect mean for the exploration and knowledge of social themes and cultural diversities and identities. In 2001 I started my personal project “Roots”, based on the Afro-Caribbean religions; in the years, I shot an extended work on Cuban Santeria and Candomblé rites in Brazil. The photos from these reportages have been exhibited in Cuba, France and Italy and are stored in “Casa de Africa” museum of La Havana and in “Pigorini” Ethnographic Museum in Rome. I published on various magazines and newspapers as Musica Jazz, Repubblica, Volontari per lo sviluppo, Collezioni Edge and CD covers and liners. I regularly publish on All About Jazz web magazine.
I am a member of American Society of Media Photographers (www.asmp.org ) since 2002.
